The title of this post is actually the name of a blog that I like to frequent and is written by Frank Chiapperino. In the post we have linked to, he writes of some great reminders on how to handle those times when your small group becomes a really small group! Enjoy the readings, tips, and applications you find for your small group.

I was really moved by this link. For a couple of months last year, Shannon and I had a group listed in the Small Groups bulletin. No one showed for several months and we decided maybe it wasn't time for us to start a group. There are a few I have talked with who do not attend a small group because of kids or they have to work too early on Monday. With the established groups we have that are thriving, I wonder if fear of not having anyone show is a factor in the slow down of new group development.
Saturation point... The slow down in new group formation may actually be due to the desire of others to participate in small groups. Some may view group life as just another item to add to an already buisy schedule, instead of the encouraging and life building aspect that is actually experienced. As leaders and group participants, I feel it is our obligation to pray for and encourage more people to experience the joy we receive from small group community.
